Ethiopia - The OMO Valley - Septembre 2007
The Dimeka market ...
On the road to Jinka ... The tracks are bad, especially now, during the rainy season...
Jinka. We are visiting the Mursi tribe ... The landscapes are fantastic.
A lot of persons told us bad things about the Mursi and that it was not a good idea to come here, especially with the kids. To visit them, we are obliged to take 2 armed scouts with us...
We had seen pictures before, but when we arrived in the village, we are surprised by those men and women. Surprised, and even chocked ! The Mursi people are really agressif, no communication is possible, the only thing they want is to get money from the pictures we are taking...
When we leave, we have a strange fealing. On one hand we had the chance to see unique people but on the other hand we participated to the pollution of the modern world with those remote tribes... Since the Mursi are really 'wild' the visit has not permit us to understand them, to communicate, to share... Our kids went even in the car, since they were really upset to be touched, pinched, pulled, ... Now, we leave the south of Ethiopia to reach Addis Ababa, to get the Visa for Djibouti... but before that, we want to pay a visit to sister Colette, met in Yabello. |
